What Is Food Science & Technology?

Food science is a field that includes chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, physics, engineering, math, nutrition, and other disciplines to study and improve the quality of food.

Food technology applies scientific and engineering principles to ensure the safe, nutritious and efficient production and distribution of food. At NMSU, students learn hands-on through coursework, labs, and internship opportunities as they complete their degree.
